SURGERY AND AESTHETIC MEDICINE OF THE EYELIDS (OCULOPLASTIC UNIT)

What is oculoplastic?

It is a subspecialty of Ophthalmology that is dedicated to the medical-surgical treatment of diseases of the eyelids, tear ducts and orbit. It is not only dedicated to treating such structures for functional purposes but also for aesthetic purposes.

Treatments

Blepharoplasty
It is the most common cosmetic surgery of the eyelids. It is done to correct excess skin or unwanted bags on the eyelids.

It is important that it is performed by an ophthalmologist who specializes in ocular plastic surgery to minimize post-surgical risks.

Canthoplasty / Canthopexy
Add tension to the lower eyelid, raising the outer angle of the lower eyelid. It is used in patients with “droopy eyes” or with a “sad look”. It is a procedure that is often complemented by blepharoplasty.

Eyebrow ptosis (drooping eyebrows)

There are various procedures for the treatment of “drooping eyebrows”, individualizing the procedure for each particular case.
