1990 – 1995: Specialist in Ophthalmology.

1998: Spanish title of Licentiate in Medicine and Surgery.

2001: Spanish title of Medical Specialist in Ophthalmology.

Specializations in Clinical Ophthalmology at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Florida USA, Orbit and Oculoplastic Unit at Hospital Xeral de Galicia in Santiago de Compostela and at Clínica Barraquer in Barcelona in orbital pathology and ocular motility.

PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITY

Most of her studies were carried out in Havana (Cuba) – Hospital Clínico Quirúrgico Hermanos Ameijeiras, Galicia. In addition to combining stays in Havana as an assistant professor and in Mexico in the Medical-Surgical Retina Unit.

Participation in national and international research projects and developments, such as research and treatment of uveal melanoma and work on lines of development and research on orbital pathology and in particular on ophthalmology, both carried out in Havana, Cuba.

Publication of scientific papers on different clinical studies in national and international specialised journals and books in Spain and America, such as:

– Pars plana vitrectomy in the extraction of the CEIO.

– Autoplasty conjunctival epithelium in primary pterygium.

– Surgical treatment of epimacular membranes.

– Diabetic retinopathy, among others. 
Co-author of several books on Orbital Pathology published in 1997- 1999 -2002 and Diabetic Retinopathy published in 2006 by Edika med.

Member of the American Society of Ophthalmology, Latin American Association of Anterior Segment Surgeons, Pan-American Society of Ophthalmology and Catalan Society of Ophthalmology.
